On the evening of May 2, the 2026 Shanghai Jinshan City Beach International Music Fireworks Show turned the coastline into a glowing open-air stage, with crowds gathering along the sand for a night where fireworks met music, sea breeze and spectacle.

With the ocean as its backdrop, the show unfolded as a friendly “fireworks duel” between teams from China and Spain. From Liuyang in Hunan Province, the Chinese team leaned into myth and memory with a sweeping sequence inspired by the legend of “Jingwei Filling the Sea,” while the Spanish team answered with a flamenco-infused burst of color and rhythm that lit up the sky in warmer tones.

Above the water, drones traced shifting patterns across the night, while a sea-based fire performance flickered on the waves below, adding an almost theatrical layer to the shoreline. Together, the elements turned the beach into a living canvas of light and sound, as visitors lined the coast watching the sky and sea trade places in glow and reflection.
