Shanghai– A new name has quietly joined the city’s ever-evolving food scene. KEBABA, which first opened its doors in Huangpu District in 2024, is now making its first formal introduction to English-speaking audiences in Shanghai.
But this is not your typical Turkish kebab spot. KEBABA introduces something Shanghai has not seen before: Berlin-style Turkish döner (Döner Berlin Style) – a distinctive street food born from the Turkish immigrant community in Berlin and now a cult favorite across Europe.

Born on the Streets of Berlin, Rooted in a Global Mindset

KEBABA’s identity is deliberately global. The brand owner is French. The head chef is Turkish, with over 25 years of experience. The space designer is Italian. And the customers? They come from all over the world.
“Our product was born on the streets of Berlin, but our DNA is global,” the KEBABA team shared in a statement.
The result is a lifestyle-driven dining concept that feels both unfamiliar and instantly accessible – a place where street food meets design, community, and consistency.

Small Menu, Big Attention to Detail
Rather than over-complicating, KEBABA keeps its menu intentionally small. The focus is on three things: fresh vegetables, homemade sauces, and rotisserie-cooked meat – all prepared by hand multiple times a day.
“Authentic flavor, quality first,” the brand states. “We pour our heart into every detail, process, and outcome.”

A Space That Transforms From Day to Night
KEBABA sees itself as more than a place to eat. By day, it’s a relaxed retreat. By night, it turns into an energetic gathering spot – fitting for its newest location on Yanping Road in Jing’an, an area well known for its nightlife scene.
The service philosophy is simple: treat customers like friends, make them feel at home.

Community at Heart
Beyond food and atmosphere, KEBABA aims to build a community – one rooted in kindness, music, sports, and genuine human connection.
“We bring people together across age and culture. Our community is built on goodwill and endless love,” the brand says.

Whether you’re a döner enthusiast or simply curious about new culinary experiences, KEBABA invites you to visit – not just for a bite, but for a taste of a new kind of street culture in Shanghai.
