The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area launched a tourism promotion event in Shanghai on Sunday to strengthen cultural and tourism cooperation with the Yangtze River Delta region.
The event featured resource display, new product launches and business matching sessions to showcase the Greater Bay Area's development as a world-class tourism destination. It aimed to build a bridge between two national strategic regions, promoting resource sharing, industrial collaboration and mutual tourist flow.
It launched the "Explore GBA" tourism campaign and unveiled integrated "one trip, multiple stops" travel packages of the region. These products combine scenic spots, resorts, cuisine and intangible cultural heritage experiences across the Greater Bay Area, creating comprehensive itineraries tailored for Yangtze River Delta travelers.

Guo Dajie, Party secretary and director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, emphasized the Greater Bay Area's unique "one trip, multiple stops" advantage, connecting Lingnan culture, international metropolis vibes and Sino-Western fusion. He noted the Yangtze River Delta represents a core source market for the Greater Bay Area, with Shanghai serving as a key hub for expanding tourist reach.
Wang Zhihua, deputy director of the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism, highlighted strong complementarity between the two regions' tourism resources and vast cooperation potential. He called for deeper collaboration to create innovative cross-regional tourism development models.

During the warm-up session, themed promotional videos of the Greater Bay Area were played, and the check-in interactive area created a strong Greater Bay Area atmosphere.
Cultural performances including Wing Chun martial arts, traditional tea ceremony shows and classic songs highlighted Lingnan and Greater Bay Area cultural characteristics.
Cities including Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai presented their unique tourism resources. Guangdong Chimelong Group, Chikan Ancient Town and Huafa Ice and Snow World brought vacation products and cooperation opportunities to Shanghai.

A special Greater Bay Area cultural and tourism market was set up outside the venue, showcasing cultural products, specialty cuisine, Cantonese song culture and promotional materials from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. The event also featured outdoor advertising on Shanghai's Bund.
Organizers said the promotion marked an important step in deepening the Greater Bay Area's presence in the Yangtze River Delta market. Authorities will continue cross-regional promotions and optimize services to drive mutual development between the two economic regions.
