Leveraging two major city IPs — Summer Shanghai 2026 International Consumption Season and Shanghai Tourism Festival — Greenland Hotels & Resorts Group pioneers an innovative cross-border model featuring “luxury hotels × iconic Shanghai local brands”. Partnering with Ah Da Scallion Pancake and Erguang Wonton under Shanghai Hongcai Investment Group, Greenland Hotels has launched limited-time pop-ups at Shanghai Sanjiagang Greenland International Resort and Greenland World Center Hotels Shanghai Hongqiao. The initiative weaves authentic street food into round-the-clock hospitality experiences, digs deep into Shanghai’s culinary heritage, revitalizes celebrated local brands through integrated cultural tourism, and presents a vivid, multi-faceted image of Shanghai to visitors from across China and the globe.

Starting August 1, Ah Da Scallion Pancakes and Erguang Wontons will be available all day — breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night snacks — at Shanghai Sanjiagang Greenland International Resort and Greenland World Center Hotels Shanghai Hongqiao. At the resort’s launch ceremony, families with children, pet owners, senior citizens and young households from all over witnessed the arrival of these beloved Shanghai brands within a hotel setting. The iconic local flavors invite every family to join this summer celebration, embodying the spirit of Summer Shanghai: Family Fun Fiesta.

With crispy crust and rich scallion aroma, Ah Da Scallion Pancakes, alongside Erguang Wontons featuring hearty fillings and rich broth, represent culinary landmarks cherished by generations of Shanghainese. Previously, visitors had to travel to old town alleyways and queue for a taste.
Under this collaboration, master chefs from Hongcai Group are stationed at the hotels to deliver comprehensive culinary training. Every step, from dough kneading and scallion oil formulation to traditional broth simmering, faithfully replicates the handmade street-side craftsmanship. Supported by standardized quality control systems, the hotel offerings deliver flavours nearly identical to the original stores. The limited pop-up will run until the end of this year. From classic old-Shanghai breakfast in the morning, daytime Shanghai-style market stalls and exclusive afternoon tea, to buffet dinners and casual late-night bites, scallion pancakes and wontons enrich guests’ daily consumption journey.

This innovative cross-industry partnership carries both cultural and commercial value. On one hand, luxury hotel venues break the geographical constraints of small street shops, allowing time-honored brands to step out of alleyways and serve as culinary ambassadors telling Shanghai’s stories to domestic and international visitors, dynamically inheriting Shanghai-style food culture. On the other hand, hotels create differentiated experiential offerings, innovate summer consumption scenarios, extend cultural tourism consumption chains and lower barriers for the public to experience local cuisine, injecting vibrant street energy into Shanghai’s development as an international consumption hub.

Greenland Hotels & Resorts Group revealed that these two local brand pop-ups mark only the starting point of its local cultural strategy. Moving forward, the group will continue to cooperate with more Shanghai time-honored brands and intangible cultural heritage food labels. It will iteratively launch themed markets, specialty dining and immersive cultural experiences, seamlessly connecting accommodation, dining, leisure, sports events and exhibitions to build a replicable and promotable benchmark for integrated cultural tourism. Binding visitors to Shanghai’s unique memories through taste, the group aims to further elevate Shanghai’s status as an international consumption hub and share the city’s distinctive charm — where refined elegance meets bustling grassroots vitality — with the world.
