IKEA is hosting a themed creative experience exhibition at the IKEA Shanghai Xuhui store from late August to early October.
By recreating real-life movement patterns and usage details in the kitchen, the exhibition will demonstrate how good design responds to every need in everyday life.
It will also highlight the design philosophy and ingenious product features behind IKEA’s kitchen solutions, inspiring consumers to create kitchen spaces that better suit their lifestyles.
IKEA continues to optimize its kitchen solutions based on the real-life usage scenarios of Chinese consumers. The home furnishing and household item retailer aims to offer not just individual products, but a one-stop service covering planning, design, purchase, installation, and after-sales support, as well as kitchen solutions better suited to the needs of Chinese households.
From product durability to environmental standards, IKEA ensures that its products are suited to kitchen environments characterised by frequent use, heavy cooking fumes and high humidity through rigorous quality testing and localised validation.
IKEA’s long-standing research into home living and consumer dialogue has also revealed an important trend: the demand for partial renovations is increasing year on year, with more households seeking flexible and hassle-free ways to continuously improve their existing living spaces. Among these, the kitchen has become a top priority for many families when it comes to renovations.
From 2026 to 2030, it is estimated that 115,000 aging urban housing apartments across the country will be renovated.
