The 2026 Shanghai Food Safety Publicity Week was launched on Monday on the West Bund in Xuhui District, featuring diversified food safety themed activities.
Throughout the week, the public will be invited to walk into local food and drug science popularization stations and participate in the Creative Food‑Safety Seal Contest.

Municipal government authorities including agriculture, market regulation, customs, health, education, public security, civil affairs, greenery and public sanitation will hold themed activities covering agricultural‑product quality safety, food‑borne‑disease prevention, grain‑reserve security and import‑export food supervision.
The campaign will reach citywide communities. Shanghai bus No.15 and No.20 will serve as mobile publicity platforms. Food‑safety displays will appear in office buildings, subway stations and commercial districts to bring food‑safety knowledge to households across the city.

The city's food‑and‑drug safety office launched the first‑ever Food Safety Observer program on Monday, which features 32 sites across six sections such as green food safety, smart food safety, and online‑food‑delivery safety. More than 300 residents took part and submitted 265 observation works. Observer representatives shared their perspectives on food safety as participants, supervisors and communicators, advancing public‑private co‑governance of food safety.
A "Zero‑Distance Food Safety" exhibition was set up on the West Bund. Covering laws and regulations, full‑process supervision, new‑format governance, protection for seniors and children, grassroots administration and social co‑governance, the exhibition presents Shanghai's modern food‑safety governance journey through real cases, data, graphics and videos, spanning the full supply chain from farm to table, and online to offline.
