OpenCSG has raised hundreds of millions of yuan in a Pre-A funding round, bringing the Chinese open-source AI company’s post-money valuation closer to unicorn status.
The round was jointly backed by Shibei Hi-Tech, Jing’an Capital, Xuhui Capital and Huanghai Financial Holding.
The company plans to use the proceeds to develop open-source AI infrastructure, its Agentic AI platform and AgenticOps capabilities, expand its global developer community and build city-level AI infrastructure.

Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Shibei, OpenCSG develops open-source AI models and infrastructure for enterprises and cities, with products spanning Agentic AI and enterprise AI platforms.
It has operations in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Yichang, Chongqing, Yancheng, Hainan, Hong Kong and Singapore, with more than 3.9 million developers and users and a repository of more than 200,000 models and 20,000 datasets.

Shibei, one of the few large-scale high-tech parks in central Shanghai, is now home to more than 800 companies in AI and related fields, spanning blockchain, large AI models, agentic applications and data services.
OpenCSG’s growth has been supported by Shibei through investment, office and R&D space, industry partnerships and access to commercial applications. Shibei has invested in the company through multiple funding rounds and connected it with businesses across the local data intelligence industry, while helping it develop applications in areas including smart parks and urban governance.
The support is part of a broader investment strategy by Shibei. The group has led the establishment of 10 investment funds focused on hard-tech sectors including data intelligence, life sciences and ultra-high-definition audiovisual technology, while also investing in emerging fields such as embodied AI, quantum technology and future health.

The funds have mobilized more than 22 billion yuan in capital. The group has also supported companies including Orient-Chip Technology and IntSig Information in going public, while AI chip unicorn Smart Logic is progressing toward an IPO.
Sun Zhongfeng, chairman of Shibei Hi-Tech and a strategic partner of OpenCSG, said the company’s rapid progress — from registration to Pre-A funding in just three years — underscored its strength in hard tech. He said OpenCSG’s products, open-source community and developer base were closely aligned with the data intelligence ecosystem being developed in the Shibei International Innovation and Technology Zone.
“Digital transformation cannot rely solely on a handful of leading companies. We want to help more small and medium-sized businesses seize the opportunities created by this wave of technological change,” Sun said.
Chen Jun, chairman of Jing’an Capital, said the growing involvement of industrial investors was helping OpenCSG move from technology validation toward commercial-scale operations.
At the Dell Technologies Forum 2026 in Shanghai in August, OpenCSG and Dell jointly launched an agentic AI supernode solution and an OPC incubation center aimed at providing computing infrastructure for entrepreneurs and one-person companies.
