A brand new store of lululemon is unveiled on Tuesday at the NEW ONE (formerly New World Daimaru Department Store) in downtown Huangpu District.
Located in the Nanjing Road E near the landmark the Bund area, it’s lululemon’s first street-front store situated on a central pedestrianised high street.
The store incorporates the brand’s new global design language, blending Shanghai-style inspiration with modern aesthetics to infuse new sporting vitality into one of Shanghai’s most historic commercial landmarks.
The lululemon New One store features a spacious, two-storey street-front space.

The façade design draws inspiration from Jingdezhen ceramics, with nearly 2,000 pieces of ‘China Red’ ceramic arranged at varying angles to create a rippling, water-like effect, skilfully blending traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.
Natural wood and terrazzo elements run throughout the store’s design, combined with natural motifs characteristic of the city—such as the white magnolia, Shanghai’s official flower, and plane tree leaves—to create a serene and tranquil atmosphere amidst the bustling city centre.
Furthermore, the store incorporates elements of the Shanghainese dialect and offers a tailor-made service inspired by the spirit of sport and Shanghai’s urban culture, crafting a community space that blends local character with the brand’s warmth.
It’s also lululemon’s largest store in the Huangpu District, showcasing the full product range covering yoga, running, training, golf, tennis and everyday wear, meeting customers’ diverse needs from professional sports to daily life.
The store will also host a wide variety of community activities, allowing more customers to experience the thrill of exercise and a sense of connection through sport.
