The Yangtze River Delta region is dotted with destinations that are ideal for spring flower appreciation, camping and a feast to the stomach, here are some tips to escape the urban treadmill and enjoy springtime in Chizhou City in Anhui Province, home to the famous Mount Jiuhua, and a well-known flower viewing destination in the region.

Its Starry Sky City Scenic Area is hosting a flower market and a garden party with a blend of traditional Chinese cultural performances this spring, while the West Huangshan Selenium Agritourism Scenic Area is hosting a tea garden hiking and tea picking event, inviting people to experience traditional tea- making, and tea art tasting upon the launch of spring tea.
On a sunny day with a gentle breeze, find a grassy spot for camping and picnicking, or gather around a stove for tea with friend… The East Jiuhuua Xingye Camping Site will host outdoor folk music concerts this spring.

The winter snow melts, and spring flowers bloom one after another. In the next month or so, magnolia, peach, canola, and azalea flowers will all bloom in turn in the city, presenting an enchanting spring painting and taking people on a colorful “flower date” journey.

A misty view of Chizhou
Chizhou boasts beautiful mountains and rivers as well as various interesting landforms. Guniujiang, a national nature reserve of wild fauna and flora, which is also called the Great Animal and Plant Gene Bank in East China, and Mount Jiuhua, a sacred Buddhist mountain, are among its most famous attractions.
It also has intangible cultural heritages such as Chizhou Nuo Opera, Qingyang Opera, and Dongzhi lantern, and delicacies like Chizhou perch, Guichi xiaoba (glutinous rice cake), Lingyang pot, and Gegong tofu.
Chizhou has stepped out efforts to facilitate payment convenience and has achieved full coverage of foreign card POS machines at major business districts and tourist attractions and have set up multiple foreign currency exchange points to attract inbound tourists.

How to get there: There are direct high-speed railway between Shanghai and Chizhou and the whole trip takes about three and a half hour. You can take the train at Shanghai Railway Station, Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, Shanghai South Railway Station or Jinshan North Railway Station.
