Shanghai has set up a one-stop international service center at the T2 terminal of Pudong International Airport to make things easier for foreign passengers.
It is staffed by bilingual personnel available to assist at different desks throughout the day and night.
Services available include multiple-language tourist guide books, maps, WiFi rental, domestic SIM cards, transportation cards, currency exchange and mobile payments.
The center has an ATM machine that accepts overseas cards as well as exchanges 20 types of currency.
The service center is designed to cater to the needs of expats, providing a one-stop station for their travel-related needs.
With the center’s help, they can navigate the airport, get assistance with transport, make local calls and send messages home.
The center is open 24 hours.
More service centers will be put into use at Pudong airport’s T1 terminal and Hongqiao airport’s T1 terminal in October.
Meanwhile, Shanghai is gearing up for a lively summer with a packed program of entertainment on offer through its “Shanghai Summer” campaign.
Kicking off next month, the months-long initiative aims to drive consumption and fully leverage the peak travel season from summer till early autumn to target domestic and overseas travelers.
Events will include exhibitions, entertainment and leisure activities as the city welcomes visitors from home and abroad.
