New ACG destination opens in Shanghai

Mosaic Shanghai transforms its fourth floor into an ACG hotspot.

This May Day holiday, a new landmark for anime, comics, and games (ACG) fans opened in the heart of Shanghai.

Located on the 4th floor of Mosaic Shanghai on Nanjing Road E., Qia Qia Gu is a vibrant, one-stop hub for youth culture, immersive shopping, and photo-worthy moments. In ACG slang, “gu” refers to merchandise, while in Shanghainese, “qia” means “to eat”— making Qia Qia Gu a playful nod to the joy of consuming ACG goods.

Brimming with ACG energy, the space is home to popular brands like Comic Soul, Rejet Shop, Card Hobby, Moeisland, and DearDolls. Even more exciting is its Growth Program, which offers a platform for original Chinese ACG creators, providing visibility, resources, and retail space to grow within a major commercial hub.

Qia Qia Gu kicked off with an ACG Carnival, a lively launch event featuring themed pop-ups, stage shows, cosplayer signings, and exclusive coupons. As Gen Z leads the way in new consumer trends, the mall aims to build a playful, youth-driven cultural universe through curated spaces, immersive experiences, and bold brand collaborations.
